Archetype is a lean team of builders and high-conviction investors. We embed ourselves deeply in the ecosystems we invest in, holding the belief that learning the ins and outs of today’s problems is essential to gaining clarity on tomorrow’s solutions. And when those new concepts appear, we work relentlessly to help bring them to life.

For us, the pinnacle of success is aligning ourselves with a founder’s vision from day one and supporting them as they venture into uncharted waters. How We Work

Archetype is nothing without the founders we are fortunate enough to work alongside. Across our two funds – Archetype I ($55M) and Archetype II ($150M) – we work with some of the industry’s most ambitious founders from their earliest days. From first check to Series A, defi to consumer, we’re actively growing our community of founders. 

Every founder, market cycle, and opportunity is different. But over our years of providing unconditional support to founders, we have seen common themes throughout identifying potential and accelerating dreams. We continue to lean into what we learn, look to our network to help nurture the next generation of great talent, and constantly consume new products and research to formulate the theses that guide our investments.

Our goal is not to simply keep pace with the industry but to identify high-potential markets and changes in user behavior in their infancy without falling into the trap of chasing trends. This balancing act is integral to every step of our process and guides us as we support teams throughout their highest peaks and greatest challenges.

The Archetype Network 

Archetype is headquartered in NYC — one of the industry’s major centers of gravity. Through organizing events, hosting monthly happy hours, and regularly meeting with new founders IRL, we are constantly face-to-face with a large part of our network. This network is not merely a collection of contacts, but a vibrant community evolving with each new endeavor we undertake.

Archetype is also constantly experimenting with new forms of media and community building. We currently produce Archebyte, a podcast where we speak with industry leaders and emerging upstarts to bring their journeys and lessons to other founders and builders. We also publish our thoughts and research as articles and package all of this media into monthly newsletters. At the end of the day, this is all for the purpose of genuinely growing and connecting with our community and helping our founders do the same.
