Today, we’re excited to announce the closing of Archetype II to continue backing visionary founders in web3 at the earliest stages of their journeys.

As both crypto-native founders and active ecosystem participants ourselves, we’ve worked relentlessly to design a truly crypto-native firm built to accelerate the next generation of founders in crypto and web3. We live and work in the trenches alongside the founders we back, with an insatiable belief that crypto will deliver a more decentralized, open, and equitable web and we are excited to help deliver this future.

We are lucky to work with long-term oriented investors as our limited partners, ranging from founders, to endowments, pension funds, global institutions, and strategic web3 companies.

Since launching Archetype 12 months ago, we’ve partnered with 30 early-stage crypto teams, built out our HQ in New York City, and expanded our core team to 4 strong. Our unwavering belief is that crypto is a grassroots, founder-led revolution, with New York the home of much of that innovation. Because of that, we’ve purposefully planted Archetype’s flag in NYC, and plan to invest resources over the next few years to cultivate this community of founders and operators both locally and globally.

Archetype II will fuel founders building the applications and underlying infrastructure that will pave the way for the next billion users to find their place in Web3.

We believe that smart contracts will underpin digital commerce to unleash new user behavior and limitless possibilities over the coming years. Entrepreneurs are harnessing the potential of smart contracts, and driving the application era to consumers everywhere. Web3 is the embodiment of the creator economy, natively tying culture, finance, and compute in composable form.

We’re ecstatic to continue our journey with Archetype II today, $150M dedicated to identifying and accelerate web3’s most ambitious. Archetype will back the relentless with unwavering conviction. We invest $500K to $5M initial checks, and are focused entirely at inception stage.
